Week 33 Update

Enrolments to date: 35

Days to opening: 44

Building on schedule to open 1 February 2012

This week the build team have been busy going over the final checks in readiness for the handover of the school from NZ Strong to the Ministry of Education. The school team have been down on site learning how to use the various systems in the school; fire, plumbing, speakers etc.

We are looking forward to our open evening on Wednesday from 4pm to 7pm and hope to see lots of our school community there over the evening. We will be able to show you the school for the first time although I hope the photos over the course of the build have helped you get a sense of how the school looks? We won't have any furniture or resources on site so the rooms may look a little empty but rest assured Cole, Hayley, Nadine and I have been hard at work researching, testing and ordering all sorts of furniture and equipment which is due to arrive in the last two weeks of January.

We will have enrolment forms on site and Nadine will be in her new office ready to help with any enquiries. If you think you will be enrolling children for 2012 please bring along copies of birth certificates, immunisation certificates and proof of your address on the evening as we do not have a photocopier onsite yet.

Our temporary school office will be open until lunchtime on Friday and closed until Monday 9 January when we will be moving to the new school site. The week of 9 - 13 January we will be between sites as we move furniture and resources and receive a lot of deliveries!!

We look forward to seeing you all on Wednesday evening. The board are supplying a sausage sizzle and soft drinks  throughout the evening so keep your fingers crossed for a dry night!

  1. Wishing you all the best with your opening. It has been exciting to watch this all unfold. What a very lucky community you have to have a school built around the people coming to this area.
